Dear OBE Families –
Thank you for an amazing start to the 2021-2022 school year! Your students are precious and we love having them join us each day. All of our OBE teachers and staff are extremely pleased with the way in which your children come to school ready to learn and have fun together. Here are a few important reminders/information to ensure the successful and safe environment at OBE.
  • FOCUS:  please remember that you can view your child’s grades, update emergency contact information or your own contact information at any time by logging into your FOCUS parent portal:  https://santarosa.focusschoolsoftware.com/focus/School

  • ENROLLMENT PAPERWORK: please turn in any outstanding beginning of the year paperwork (i.e. student health cards, free/reduced meal application, shot records, physical exams, etc.)

  • HEALTH & SAFETY:
    • In response to the current increase in Covid-19 cases and to mitigate the spread, we, unfortunately, will not be opening our OBE cafeteria to guest dining for those parents wishing to enjoy lunch on occasion with their student.  We will re-evaluate after the first nine weeks.
    • Volunteers – we are postponing our volunteer orientations that were scheduled for this Wednesday, 8/25. As it stands, OBE is in an “essential volunteer” mode until further notice.  We will keep you posted as to when we feel it is safe to fully open our doors to district approved volunteers. In the meantime, if you wish to volunteer at some point this year, please visit our district website https://www.santarosa.k12.fl.us/community/vol/ to fill out a volunteer application so you will be school board approved and ready to go once we are able to do so.
    • We are following all district/state guidelines to keep all at OBE safe. Thank you for monitoring your students for any signs of illness and for keeping them home if they have a fever, runny nose, cough, etc. If your child is absent, please communicate/collaborate with the teacher to keep him/her learning while not at school.

  • SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL (SAC): if you’d like to be a part of this council which meets monthly, please contact the front office and we’ll send you a link to our SAC ZOOM meeting this Wednesday, 8/25 at 7:30am.

  • AM Arrival (7:50am) & PM Dismissal (2:34pm)
  • AM Car Rider: Thank you for getting your children to school each morning in a timely manner! Our doors open at 7:50am and we recommend that breakfast eaters arrive by 8:00am in order to have time to eat and get to class. If you arrive after 8:20am, your student will be counted as late to school (3 late to schools =1 day absence) and you will need to park your car, walk your student to the office, present a valid ID and sign them in. Our car rider line is moving and grooving – thank you for staying in your cars and pulling forward until our staff can assist your student with loading/unloading. Please remember our parking lot is very busy and not designed for parents to park/walk their students in every day – please use our car rider line.
  • PM Car Rider– starting this week you must have an OBE provided sign placed on your passenger side visor in order to pick your child up from the car rider line or you will be asked to park and walk into the building to confirm your identity prior to us releasing your child to you. If you do not have a sign please contact the front office as we will no longer accept a homemade sign. Additionally, if you need to check your child out early for an appointment, please arrange to do so no later than 2:00pm.
  • BUS: If you’d like to forgo the car rider line… contact Student Transportation of America (STA) at (850) 936-6005 or visit their website:  https://sites.santarosa.k12.fl.us/transportation/form_page.htm  Parents please remind your bus rider to buckle their seat belts, remain in their seats, and keep their voices low so as not to distract the driver.
  • TRANSPORTATION CHANGES: any change to the way your child typically goes home in the afternoon must always be in writing - please either send in a note to the teacher with all details or go on our website homepage to the “transportation changes” link https://www.oriolebeachel.com/ to fill out a quick online form. We need to receive these no later than 12pm noon the day of the change. We understand that emergencies may arise but please kindly give our staff as much notice as possible. Thank you!
