School Hours

Drop off for students begins at

7:50AM.​

​

First Bell is at 8:10 AM

Tardy Bell rings at 8:20 AM

Checkout ends at 2:00 PM

Dismissal begins at 2:34 PM 
NOTE: There is no supervision for

students before 7:50 AM. If you must 

bring your child earlier, please contact

Latchkey to arrange to drop off your

child in a supervised before school p

program. Students will go directly to

classrooms when the doors open and

​thereafter. 

Checking in

​When you approach the front entrance, you

will need to push the button located to the

right side of the entryway next to the mounted

camera.  You will be greeted by an office

attendant, asked to present a photo ID to the

camera, and state the purpose of your visit. 

Once approved, the door will then be unlocked,

and you be permitted access into the building.

We ask for your patience and understanding

concerning this protocol. It reflects our

number one goal which is to insure the safety

and well being of our students and staff

members at our school.

Transportation 911 is a web site set up by the county to

address parent questions and issues. Click on the

​button above to access this page. 

Bus notes the parents must include:

The teacher’s name, the bus number and the address they are

going to that day. 

Car rider drop off and

pick up procedures:

Note: The front doors open to students at 7:50 AM

. 
There is no general supervision of students provided

before this time. 
Make sure that if you are driving your

child to school that you drive through the drop-off line.

Please do not park and walk your child up to the

building.

 1. Drivers should come to a complete stop before

allowing students to exit or enter the vehicle.

To make this process go smoothly, please make sure

your child is ready to exit your car as soon as you pull

up. 

2. Please do not drop off children in any area except the

designated car rider line.  Children may not walk alone

from the parking lot to the school entrance. (Pull all the

way up to the numbered slots to drop your child off.)

3. Parents: please stay in the car at all times during

drop-off and pick-up.  (
OBE staff will assist with

opening doors and helping smaller children out of the

car. Remain in your vehicle.)
4. If your child is tardy, you must sign him/her in at the

front office. (Remember:  after 8:25 A.M. you will need to

park, walk your child in, and sign them in at the front

office.)


5. We ask that you REFRAIN FROM USING your CELL

PHONES IN THE CAR RIDER LINE

Afternoon Pickup


 Note: Please remain behind the cones in the parking lot

until 2:10 PM and pull as far to the curb on the left as

you can to allow guests parked at the school to exit from

the parking lot.

1. Make sure you have the students’ names that you will

be picking up displayed on the provided school visor

sign. (Please call or stop by the front office if your child

does not have one).

2. Pull all the way up to each number slot to pick your

child up. OBE staff will assist with opening doors and

helping smaller children into the right side of your car.

Remain in your vehicle.

3. Please do not park and walk to the building to pick up

​your child.
​ CAR RIDERS: Please ensure you have a school provided car-

rider line sign
 if you are picking up your child in the car rider

line. For safety reasons, if you do not have your school

provided sign you will be asked to go through the car rider

line, park, walk into the office and present your ID before your

child will be released to you. Call the school office at (850) 934-

​5160 if you need a sign.

Transportation Changes for your child

During the school day:

You may fill out a form on our link on the front page

which will alert us to the change.  Please make sure you

follow up your email with a phone call immediately to

(850) 934-5160. This is to ensure receipt of your request

by the appropriate parties. It also serves to verify the

identity of you, the custodial parent/guardian. **If you

do not confirm via phone, your child will be sent home

the normal way.** We accept dismissal changes up until

​2:00 PM.

For student safety, your email must come

from the email that the school has on

​record 
and must include:



* Your full name/relationship to child


* Child’s full name

* Child’s grade and teacher’s name


* Child’s normal mode of transportation

*Details of new method of transportation including:

dates valid, who/where (bus #, daycare name, or car

rider line).







Please be very specific as to dates and destinations,

including exact street addresses and bus number.

For example, “grandma’s house” is not a sufficient

address identifier. For more information, please

consult the Parent-Student handbook or call the

office.

When your child must miss school....

​If you are sending a written note, be sure to include the

following: 

1. Student's full name

2. Name of the homeroom teacher

3. Date(s) of the absence(s)

4. Reason for the absence.
