School Hours

Drop off for students begins at 7:50AM.
  • First Bell is at 8:10 AM
  • Tardy Bell rings at 8:20 AM
  • Checkout ends at 2:00 PM
  • Dismissal begins at 2:34 PM
NOTE: There is no supervision for students before 7:50 AM. If you must bring your child earlier, please contact Latchkey to arrange to drop off your child in a supervised before school program. Students will go directly to classrooms when the doors open and thereafter.

Front Entrance Security

When you approach the front entrance, you will need to push the button located to the right side of the entryway next to the mounted camera.  You will be greeted by an office attendant, asked to present a photo ID to the camera, and state the purpose of your visit.  Once approved, the door will then be unlocked, and you be permitted access into the building. Your temperature will be checked upon entering the building as well.
We ask for your patience and understanding concerning this protocol. It reflects our number one goal which is to insure the safety and well being of our students and staff members at our school. Thank  you for your cooperation and understanding.

Morning Drop off

Note: The front doors open to students at 7:50 AM . There is no general supervision of students provided before this time. Make sure that if you are driving your child to school that you drive through the drop-off line. Please do not park and walk your child up to the building.

 1. Drivers should come to a complete stop before allowing students to exit or enter the vehicle.
To make this process go smoothly, please make sure your child is ready to exit your car as soon as you pull up.
2. Please do not drop off children in any area except the designated car rider line.  Children may not walk alone from the parking lot to the school entrance. (Pull all the way up to the numbered slots to drop your child off.)
3. Parents: please stay in the car at all times during drop-off and pick-up.  (OBE staff will assist with opening doors and helping smaller children out of the car. Remain in your vehicle.)
4. If your child is tardy, you must sign him/her in at the front office. (Remember:  after 8:25 A.M. you will need to park, walk your child in, and sign them in at the front office.)
5. We ask that you REFRAIN FROM USING your CELL PHONES IN THE CAR RIDER LINE to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Afternoon Pickup
 Note: Please remain behind the cones in the parking lot until 2:10 PM and pull as far to the curb on the left as you can to allow guests parked at the school to exit from the parking lot.

1. Make sure you have the students’ names that you will be picking up displayed on the provided school visor sign. (Please call or stop by the front office if your child does not have one).
2. Pull all the way up to each number slot to pick your child up. OBE staff will assist with opening doors and helping smaller children into the right side of your car. Remain in your vehicle.
3. Please do not park and walk to the building to pick up your child.
 CAR RIDERS: Please ensure you have a school provided car-rider line sign if you are picking up your child in the car rider line. For safety reasons, if you do not have your school provided sign you will be asked to go through the car rider line, park, walk into the office and present your i.d. before your child will be released to you. Call the school office at (850) 934-5160 if you need a sign

Transportation Changes for your child

During the school day:
You may email a change through the bus shortcut on our home page. Please make sure you follow up your email with a phone call immediately to (850) 934-5160. This is to ensure receipt of your request by the appropriate parties. It also serves to verify the identity of you, the custodial parent/guardian. **If you do not confirm via phone, your child will be sent home the normal way.** We accept dismissal changes up until 2:00 PM.

For student safety, your email must come from the email that the school has on record and must include:
* Your full name/relationship to child
* Child’s full name
* Child’s grade and teacher’s name
* Child’s normal mode of transportation
*Details of new method of transportation including: dates valid, who/where (bus #, daycare name, or car rider line).
Please be very specific as to dates and destinations, including exact street addresses and bus number. For example, “grandma’s house” is not a sufficient address identifier. For more information, please consult the Parent-Student handbook or call the office.
